LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 78.

Chain Rock Light-house.

NOTICE is hereby given that the light on Chain Rock Boca Tigris, Canton River, was exhibited for the first time at sunset on the 24th November, 1906.

The illuminating apparatns is dioptrie, of the 6th order, showing a fixed red light.

The light tower is situated on Chain Rock, Boca Tigris, and the light which is elevated 33 feet above ordinary High Water level, should be visible in clear weather at a distance of 7 nautical miles.

The tower is a square brick structure, 30 feet high to the top of the parapet, with a total height from the base to the top of the lantern of 36 feet.

The tower is painted brick colour.

Rastoropny Wreck in Chefoo Harbour, concerning removal of.

HAVING reference to Notice to Mariner, No. 221 (Special), Notice is hereby given that the " Rastoropny' Wreck has now been demolished to the level of the bottom and that there is a depth of 16 feet over it at Low Water of Spring Tides. Spar buoys surmounted by cages have been placed to mark the bow and stern. Captains should not drop anchor between these buoys.

TIPARA LIGHTHOUSE.

NOTICE is hereby given that during the prevalence of Fog or Mist a Gong will be Sounded at the above- mentioned Lighthouse for a period of Thirty (30) Seconds in duration and at intervals of Five Minutes.

The sound will be audible in ordinary weather for a distance of Three (3) Miles. This affects Admiralty Chart No. 2389B.

MASTERS of Vessels, Pilots and others are hereby informed that, owing to the progress of deepening opera- tions at the North Bank, Port Adelaide River, the Black Buoy thereon has been removed, and its position is now occupied by the Dredger.

No. 1G Beacon Light will be temporarily exhibited from the Reflecting Beacon until it can be shown from the position it is to occupy permanently, as to which a further notice will be issued.

This affects Admiralty Charts 2389A and B, 1750, and 1752.
