No. 251. It is hereby notified that Mr. WILLIAM JAMES CARRIE resumed duty as Head of the Sanitary Department and Registrar of Births and Deaths on 13th May,

1929.

No. 252. - His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. BENJAMIN WYLIE to be a Member of the Board of Education for a further period of two years, with effect from 20th May, 1929.

17th May, 1929.

No. 253. - His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint a Committee o review the provision at present existing for playing fields in Hong Kong and on the- tmainland, to consider what provision is required for the future and to make recommen dations to Government in the matter.

The following gentlemen will constitute this Committee: -

No. 254.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint a Committee to consider the amendment of the Stamp Ordinance with a view to preventing evasion. of the stamp duty on share transactions and of the estate duty on shares forming part of the estates of deceased persons.
