An Ordinance to amend the Bills of Exchange
Ordinance, 1885.

BE it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
and con-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Bills of Ex- Short title change (Time of Noting) Ordinance, 1918, and shall be struction. read and construed as one with the Bills of Exchange Ordinance, 1885, and the said Ordinance and this Ordi- 7 & 8 Geo. 5,
c. 48, s. 2. nance may be cited together as the Bills of Exchange Ordinances, 1885 and 1918.
Ordinance No. 3 of 1885.
2. In sub-section (4) of section fifty-one of the Bills Time of of Exchange Ordinance, 1885, (which relates to the time Noting.
of noting a dishonoured bill), the words "it must be 7 & 8 Geo. 5,

'noted on the day of its dishonour" shall be repealed, c. 48, s. 1.
and the following words shall be substituted therefor,
namely, it may be noted on the day of its dishonour
"
and must be noted not later than the next succeeding business day".
