The Attorney General addressed the Council and moved the suspension of the Standing Orders so that the Bill might be read a second and third time.

On Council resuming, the Attorney General reported that the Bill had passed through Committee without amendment and moved that it be read a third time.

The Colonial Secretary seconded.

Mr. HOLYOK addressed the Council, and His Excellency the Governor replied, Question-put and agreed to.

Bill read a third time and passed.

ADJOURNMENT. -—-—The Council then adjourned sine die.

No. 193. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ADAM GIBSON to act as Head of the Sanitary Department, in addition to his other duties, and Mrs. ALICE DEborah Hickling to act as Secretary to the Sanitary Board, until further notice, with effect from the 18th instant.

No. 194.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. DAVID Wood to act as Assessor of Rates, in addition to his other duties, during the absence on leave of Mr. ARTHUR CHAPMAN, V.D., or until further notice, with effect from the 22nd May, 1918.
