No. 28. His Majesty the King has not been advised to exercise his power of dis- allowance with respect to the following Ordinances :-
Ordinance No. 19 of 1917.-An Ordinance to make provision with respect to
military service and to provide for the establish- ment maintenance and control of a local defence corps.
Ordinance No. 20 of 1917.—An Ordinance to amend the Special Police Reserve Ordinance, 1914, and to remove doubts as to the effect of the proclamation made under section 10 of the said Ordinance on the third day of Septem- ber, 1915.
Ordinance No. 21 of 1917.--An Ordinance to amend further the Jury Ordi-
nance, 1887.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.
No. 29.---His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. PHILIP PEVERIL JOHN WODEHOUSE, Deputy Superintendent of Police, to act as his Aide-de-Camp, in addition to his other duties, with effect from the 22nd January, 1918.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 30.-It is hereby notified for information that on the 26th October, 1917, the President of the Republic of Brazil declared that a state of war existed between Brazil and Germany.
No. 31. It is hereby notified for general information that by a proclamation issued on the 16th January, 1918, the importation of the following articles into the United Kingdom was prohibited, except under licence :-
Antimony, crude.
Antimony ore. Antimony, regulus. Antimony sulphide.
A list of the Prohibition of Import Proclamations which are in force in the United Kingdom is contained in Note 2 to Notification No. 26, which is published in this issue of the Gazette.
No. 32.--The following notification, which appeared in the London Gazette of the 13th November, 1917, is published for general information.
