(d) The appropriate fee will cover the survey of the ship and her equipments, including lights and sound signals; accommodation; distilling apparatus; stores; and lighting, ventilating and sanitary arrangements, but it will not cover the survey for a passenger certificate; measurement for tonnage; survey for loadline or inspection of crew spaces.

(b) When a ship, previously measured under Rule II,, is remeasured under Rule I, the full fee in Scale A is to be charged without any deduction for measurement under Rule II.
(c) Scale C shows the fee for remeasurement in consequence of alterations on the upper deck, or in the engine room, or under Sections 77 (4), 78 (2), 79 (i), and 80 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, or Section 54 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1906. The maximum fee in respect of each item is $50. The fee for measurement under Section 79 (1) (a) (i) includes the inspection of crew spaces if made at the same time as the
measurement.
(d) The fee for measurement under Section 81, Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, and in all other cases where, in consequence of alterations, remeasurement of the under deck tonnage is found necessary is that shown in Scale A.
(e) If a trawler or drifter, built and measured for the Admiralty, is transferred to private owners and is being registered under Part 1 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894 and alterations are found to have beer. made affecting the tonnage, the fee is to be charged in accordance with Scale A. If no alterations have been made, a fee of $5 only is to be charged for the visit to the ship and the issue of the necessary papers to the Registrar of Shipping at the intended port of registry.
(f) If the owners of a foreign ship apply for the renewal of a certificate of British Tonnage, the principal dimensions are to be re-tried, and, if they are found to agree with the certificate, a fee of $20 only is to be charged for the issue of the new certificate. If the dimensions do not practically agree with the certificate of tonnage, the ship must be re-measured throughout under Rule I or II, as the case may be, and the appro- priate fee charged.
(9) The fee for a copy of the Certificate of British Tonnage is $5.

(h) When application is made for the issue or amendment of a 'Suez Canal or "Panama Canal" Special Tonnage Certificate, a fee of two-fifths of the full tonnage fee is to be charged for each certificate whether the measurement is made at the same time as the measurement for British registry or not. This fee includes re-measurement of British tonnage (except underdeck) if made at the same time. Certified copies of Suez Canal or Panama Canal certificate will be issued on payment of $5 for each copy.
