Inspection and tests of boiler tubes subject to internal pressure,

for each 15 or portion of 15 tested for tensile strength and ductility for each 90 or portion of 90 tubes tested by hydraulic pressure Inspection test and stamping of superheater headers for stock,-for each 15 or portion of 15 tubes tested for tensile strength and by bending, in one order

for each 50 tubes or portion of 50 tubes stamped in one order for each visit beyond two made in connection with the order Inspection of plates after flanging or working,-for each 15, or portion of

15, inspected at the same time

(The fees for witnessing tests of plates, bars, forgings, etc., cover one order only, and separate fees must be paid for each order, although the plates, bars, etc., for different orders may be tested at one time).

Testing bronze propeller blades for ships not under survey for passenger certificate when all the castings are made by the same maker for the same ship and not more than two visits by the Surveyor are required,-- for 4 or fewer castings tested

for each additional visit beyond two made by the Surveyor

Examination of Plans of Ships, Machinery, etc. to be

Constructed outside the Colony.

The Government cannot allow any survey during construction to be made outside the Colony but, if desired, will undertake to examine and advise upon plans showing the structural arrangements and details of ships, marine boilers, machinery, boats, etc., which are to be constructed outside the Colony and intended to comply with British requirements.

The fee for this service will be assessed in each case according to the work involved in the examination.

19. The foregoing fees are for surveys within the limits of the Colony and include the surveyors expenses in connection with such surveys. When, on application being made, the Government decide to allow a survey to be made outside the Colony, in addition to the usual survey fee and the Surveyor's travelling expenses, a special fee of $100 will be charged for every 24 hours or part of 24 hours during which the Surveyor is absent from the Colony. This special fee will include a subsistence allowance for the Surveyor which will be assessed and paid by the Government according to the circum- stances of the case.

All fees and a deposit to cover the additional charges must be paid in advance by the applicants and an undertaking given for the payment of any balance of fees and expenses connected with the service.
