regulations are hereby excluded from application to the said area and to any licence granted under these regulations. Regulation 15 of the principal regulations shall apply to the said area and to licences granted under these regulations in the following modified form,-

15. The licensee shall permit any passenger to take with him on a ferry vessel as free personal luggage such small baskets, bags, or parcels as he may be able to carry by hand. Save and except such free personal luggage, the licensee shall not be bound to carry any animals, birds, goods, merchandise, minerals, or parcels. If he does carry them, he shall do so at rates for the time being permitted by his licence.

Regulations made by the Governor in Council under section 3 of the Vehicles and Traffic Regulation Ordinance, 1912, Ordinance No. 40 of 1912, on the 25th day of October, 1928.

The regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Vehicles and Traffic Regulation Ordinance, 1912, and set forth on pages 617-655 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, under the heading "Traffic Regulations", amended as appears in Government Notifications Nos. 368 of 1926 and 331 of 1927, are hereby further amended as follows:-

(1) by the deletion of the words "other than a truck" in regulation 3A.

2) by the insertion of the following regulation next after regulation 11,--

11A. It shall be lawful for the Captain Superintendent of Police in his discretion to limit at any time and from time to time the number of licences to be issued for any class of public vehicle.

(3) by the rescission of regulation 16 and the substitution of the following

regulation therefor,-

16. Except as provided in these regulations a driver shall not leave his

vehicle unattended in any road or public place.

(4) by the insertion of the following regulation next after regulation 26,-

26A. A driver shall immediately draw in to the side of the roadway and stop clear of crossings when a fire-appliance vehicle or motor am- bulance approaches.

5) by the addition to regulation 34A of the following paragraph next after

paragraph 9,-

(10) produce his licence for inspection when called upon to do so by a

police officer in uniform.

and by making the following consequential amendments to such regulation,

delete "and" next before paragraph (9), and substitute a semicolon for the full stop at the end of such paragraph.
