Ordinance No. 8 of 1928.--An Ordinance to amend the Distress for Rent
Ordinance, 1883.
Ordinance No. 9 of 1928.-An Ordinance to amend the Dentistry Ordinance,
1914.
Ordinance No. 10 of 1928.--An Ordinance to amend the Registration of United Kingdom Patents Ordinance, 1925, and to make certain provisions with regard to letters patent granted under the Patents Ordinance, 1892.

No. 542.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to appoint Sergeant RONALD DUDLEY READ, to be Second Lieutenant in the Ilong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 24th September, 1928.

No. 543.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint the Hon. Mr. CHALONER GRENVILLE ALABASTER, O.B.E., K.C., to act as Attorney General until further notice, with effect from the 1st October, 1928.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. CHALONER GRENVILLE ALABASTER, O.B.E., K.C., to be a Member of the Executive and Legislative Councils, during his tenure of office as acting Attorney General, with effect from 1st October, 1928.

No. 545.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, the Honourable Mr. JOHN OWEN HUGHES to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Executive Council,. vice Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, K.C., with effect from 1st October, 1928.

No. 546-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, Mr. CHARLES- GORDON STEWART MACKIE to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council, vice Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, K.C., with effect from 1st October, 1928.
