EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.
No. 283.
Regulation made by the Officer Administering the Government in Council under section 17 of the Police Force Ordinance, 1900, Ordinance No. 11 of 1900, on the 9th day of May, 1928.
The regulations regarding pensions of non-European subordinate officers and non- European constables of the police force, made by the Governor in Council and set forth on pages 269 to 275 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1841 to 1925, are hereby further amended by the deletion of the words "been in receipt of the same in line 6 of regula- tion I- -on page 269-aad the substitution therefor of the words "held such rank ".

NOTES.- Earlier amendments will be found in G. N. 229 of 1926, published in the Gazette of 30th April, 1926, and G. N. 512 of 1927, published in the Gazette of 9th Septem- ber, 1927.
The effect of the amendment is to cause lines 6 and 7 of regulation 1 to read,—“ pro- vided he shall have held such rank for the last three years; otherwise, the pension shall be calculated upon".
APPOINTMENTS, &c.
No. 284. - It is hereby notified, under section 2 of the London Missionary Society Incorporation Ordinance, 1891, Ordinance No. 6 of 1891, that satisfactory proof of the appointment of the Reverend HERBERT RICHMOND WELLS, O.B.E., as Senior Missionary in Hong Kong of the London Missionary Society has been placed in the hands of His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government.

No. 286.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to make the following promotions in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 15th May, 1928 :
Captain SAMUEL JOHNSON JORDAIN, M.C., to be Major. Lieutenant ERIC JOHN RODERICK MITCHELL, to be Captain.
