EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 55.

Order made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Forest Officers Ordi- nance, 1923, Ordinance No. 32 of 1923, on the 30th day of January, 1928.

The Schedule to the Forest Officers Ordinance, 1923, is hereby amended as follows:-

(1) by the substitution of the heading "Sections, etc." for the heading

'Sections." in the third column; and

(2) by the addition of the following:-

11 of 1920... Plants

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under sections 10 (6), 14 (7), 37 (2) and 42 (1) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, Ordinance No. 10 of 1899, on the 2nd day of February, 1928.

Table in the Schedule to the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, is hereby amended as follows:-

(1) by the insertion of the heading “Part I” next after the heading "Table C”;

and

(2) by the addition to the said Table C of the following heading and regula-

tions,--

PART II.

Regulations as to mode of survey of ships of Class 1 A referred to in Table A.

1. For the purpose of these regulations, -

(1) "Board of Trade Regulations" means the relevant regulations of the Board of Trade, in these regulations referred to, for the time being in force in Great Britain, to the intent that the requirements in this Colony shall at all times correspond with and be equivalent to the requirements of the Board of Trade in Great Britain, necessary changes as to authorities upon whom duties devolve, routine and procedure only being made.

(2) "New Ship" means a ship whose keel was or shall be laid on or after 1st January, 1928; any other ship shall be deemed an "existing ship" within the meaning of the Board of Trade regulations.

2. The nature and requirements of and for survey for the grant of a Class 1 A certificate shall be the Board of Trade survey regulations for foreign-going passenger ships.

3. As from the end of the year 1927 new ships and ships coming under survey for the first time shall be governed by the Board of Trade requirements for new ships.
