WORKMEN'S TRAMS.--Consideration of the following Resolution was postponed :--
"Resolved that the Resolutions regarding the running of Workmen's Cars by the Hongkong Tramway Electric Company, Limited, passed by the Legislative Council on the 21st day of June 1906 he rescinded as from to-day."
WIDOWS' AND ORPHANS' PENSION FUND (AMENDMENT) BILL.-The Colonial Treasurer moved the first reading of a Bill entitled An Ordinance to amend the Widows' and Orphans' Pension Fund Ordinance, 1900.
The Colonial Secretary seconded.
Question-put and agreed to.
Bill read a first time.
TRADE MARKS BILL.-The Colonial Secretary moved that the Bill entitled An Ördin- ance to consolidate and amend the Law relating to Trade Marks, be withdrawn from the "Orders of the Day."
The Colonial Treasurer seconded.
His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council.
Question--put and agreed to.
MERCHANT SHIPPING (AMENDMENT) BILL.--The Colonial Secretary moved that the Bill entitled An Ordinance further to amend the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, be recommitted to a Committee of the whole Council,

Council resumed, and Bill reported with minor amendments.
The Colonial Secretary moved that the Bill be read a third time.

ADJOURNMENT.The Commeil then adjourned until Thursday, the 1st November, 1906.
