LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS, No. 183.
Telegraph Cables.
MASTERS and Pilots of vessels are hereby instructed to exercise the utmost care when anchoring near a place where telegraph cables cross the river. These places are always marked by notice boards, and by red lights during night.
If damage is done to cables owing to neglect of Shipmasters or Pilots to observe the terms of this notification, they will be held liable for such damage.
