For this district, which is inhabited mostly by Europeans living in compar- atively new houses with plenty of open space around them, the table and curves shew little beyond the fact that rat and human plague were almost absent, there being but one single case of each and these at such widely apart dates as to pre-

clude any connection being assigned to them in point of time.
