The licensee of any other ferry or group of ferries may demand and take such fares approved by the Governor in Council as shall be notified in the notice inviting tenders.

Nothing in this regulation shall be deemed to limit the right of a licensee to issue sea- son tickets or punch tickets covering a number of journeys.

15. No passenger may take on any ferry vessel free personal luggage other than small hand-baskets, bags, or parcels, not exceeding two in number no one of which shall exceed 16 pounds in weight or 1 cubic foot in measurement. All such luggage shall be carried by hand, and at the responsibility of the passenger, and shall not occupy any part of a seat, or be of a form or description to annoy or inconvenience other passengers.

16. The licensee may demand and take in respect of personal luggage, other than the said free personal luggage, charges not exceeding the following rates:

For every box, basket, bag, parcel or piece of luggage-

not exceeding 14 lb. in weight,

5 cents.

exceeding 14 lb. and not exceeding 28 lb., .......10 cents. exceeding 28 lb. and not exceeding 56 lb., exceeding 56 lb.,

such sum as

the licensee may think fit.

17. The licensee may demand and take in respect of animals, birds, and articles other than personal luggage charges not exceeding the following rates :-

For every calf, pig, sheep, goat, dog, cat, rabbit,

or other small animal,

For every bird,....

For every motor-bicycle,

For

every side car,

For every perambulator, bicycle, go-cart, or

wheelbarrow,

For any other animal or article,

5 cents.

18. Save and except the free personal luggage allowed in Regulation No. 15 the licensee shall not be bound to carry any animals, birds, goods, merchandise, minerals, or parcels.

19. The licensee shall exhibit in a conspicuous situation in each class of every ferry vessel a list printed in the English and Chinese languages of all the fares and charges

authorised to be taken.

REGULATIONS AS TO PASSENGERS, &c.

20. The purchase of a ticket shall not entitle any passenger to a passage by a particular ferry vessel or to travel in a superior class than that for which the ticket is issued if the class contains its authorised complement.

21. No person shall wilfully obstruct any person acting under the authority of the licensee in the lawful discharge of his duties.

22. No person shall travel on any ferry vessel with intent to avoid payment of his fare or proper charges. All tickets issued in exchange for payment (with the exception of season tickets) must be handed over to be punched by the licensee's collector before embarkation of the passengers. In the cases where no tickets are issued in exchange for payment each passenger shall, before embarking, pass through the turnstile provided on the ferry pier.
