No. S. 140.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the purchase of Pine Trees, Brushwood, and Prunings. from Trees", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 30th June, 1917.
For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.
For specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person shall refuse to carry out his tender, should his tender be accepted.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

NOTICES TO MARINERS.
ON and after Saturday, the 9th June, 1917, Kap Sing Island Light will be altered as follows:-
1. To show a Flashing light between Green Island and Chung Hue Island from
a line N. 39° W. Magnetic to a line N. 65° W. Magnetic.
2. To be obscured between Chung Hue Island and Ma Wan Island from N. 65°
W. Magnetic to S. 40° E. Magnetic.
3. To show a Flashing light in Kap Sui Mun Pass between S. 40° E. Magnetic
and Lantau No. 54° E. Magnetic.
4. To be obscured to the seaward between Lantau N. 54° E. Magnetic to Green
Island N. 39 W. Magnetic.
All bearings given from seawards.

NEWCHWANG DISTRICT.
Gulf of Liaotung Approach to the Liao River.
New Newchwang Light-vessel Plated in Position; Characteristics of Light and Fog Signal Changed.
REFERRING to Special Notice to Mariners No. 480, notice is hereby given that on the 25th May, 1917, the old Newchwang Light-vessel was removed from her station and the new Light-vessel placed in position.
The new Light-vessel is built of steel, is 92 feet in length and 26 feet in beam, and is painted red, with the name Newchuang on her sides in white letters.
The light, which is exhibited from a lantern surmounting a steel tower, is Dioptric, Double Flashing, of the Fourth Order, showing two white flashes in quick succession every 10 seconds. The power of the flash is about 18,000 candles.
