Details.. The Auxiliary Fixed Light with White and Red Sectors exhibited from the Lighthouse 60 feet below the Main Light, and showing Red over Lipson Reef and White over Casuarina Island will be discontinued on or about 1st May, 1917.

The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or foggy weather. The heights given are heights of focal plane above high water.

Backstairs Passage.
Yatala Shoal-Light buoy established.
WITH reference to Notice No. 7 of 1916, Mariners and others are hereby notified that the lighted buoy on Yatala Shoal is now established.
Position. On the north-western side of Yatala Shoal in 10 fathoms of water L.W.S.
23° (N. 18° E. Magnetic) distant 41, miles from Cape St. Alban.
Latitude, 35° 44' S., Longitude, 138° 10' E.
Description.-A cylindrical light buoy with framework super-structure 13 feet high, painted in red and white horizontal bands, exhibiting a flashing white light every six seconds, thus :--
Power.--1,300 candles.
Visibility.-Eight miles.
