Description-Iron frustum of cone, painted black, surmounted by a lattice-work
supporting a lantern.
Height of light :--10 shaku above the water.
Character of light :---Pintsch gas occulting green, light 4 seconds, eclipse 4 seconds, Illuminated are: The whole horizon.
Visible distance :--4 nautical miles in clear night.
Depth of water:--About 5 fathoms at L. W. S. T.
Magnetic bearings taken from the buoy :--

The Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bearings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only in thick or foggy weather, The heights given are heights of focal plane above high water.
TASMANIA WEST COAST.
West Point-Light Established.
WITH reference to Notice No. 1 of 1916, Mariners and others are hereby notified that the new light on West Point is now permanently established.
Position.—About 200 yards from the South Western extreme of the Point.
Lat. 40° 57' S.; Long. 144° 38' E.
Structure.-Steel framed tower 62 feet with lantern 13 feet high, painted white. Character.--Single Flashing White Light showing one flash every five seconds,
thus:

Visibility-Seventeen miles.
Power.---5,000 candles.
Remarks.-The Light is unwatched.
