EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 853.

Order made by the Governor-in-Council this 9th day of October, 1906, under the provisions of Section 5 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, 1873 (Ordinance No, I of 1873.)

WHEREAS by Section 3 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, 1873 (as amended by the Dangerous Goods Amendment Ordinance, 1902,) it is enacted that the following goods namely, petroleum, nitro-glycerine or glonoine oil, gun cotton, fulminate of mercury or of other metals, dynamite, blasting powders, gunpowder, fuses (other than safety fuses), rockets, detonators, cartridges, ammunition of all descriptions (other than percussion caps or priming caps or empty sporting cases), phosphorus, aqua fortis, vitriol, naphtha and benzine shall be deemed to be dangerous goods within the meaning of the Ordinance And Whereas it is desirable to declare certain other goods to be dangerous goods :

Now the Governor-in-Council by virtue of the power to that effect vested in him by Section 5 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance, 1873, hereby declares that in addition to the goods named above the following shall be denied to be dangerous goods:-

Gelatine dynamite.

Cheddite.

Gelignite.

Blasting Gelatine.

Bobbinite.

Compressed Gunpowder,

Rackarock.

Chlorate of potash mixture for rackarock.

Nitrobenzene or Oil of Mirbane (exceeding one pound in weight).

Picric Explosive (including Picric Acid exceeding one pound in weight, Picrates, Picric and Picrate Mixtures), unless such Picric Explosive is mixed with not less than half its own weight of water. Calcium Carbide [(a) exceeding five pounds kept in one pound tins hermetically sealed, or (b) exceeding five pounds kept in a properly equipped gasometer or apparatus, prepared for use, and so situated that public safety is not in the opinion of the Governor-in- Council likely to be endangered].

Ether (exceeding one pound in weight).

Spirit of Wine (exceeding two gallons).

Methylated Spirit (exceeding two gallons).

Alcoholic liquid of a greater strength than 70 parts per cent. by weight of alcohol (exceeding two gallons if kept for private use or exceeding 50 gallons if kept for sale by retail):

and that the label on the vessel or package containing any such substance shall be in the form prescribed by Section 9 of the said Ordinance.

AND the Governor-in-Council hereby revokes all orders heretofore made by him under the provisions of the said Section 5 of the said Ordinance.
