No. 546.-It is hereby notified, with reference to Government Notification No. 299 of the 29th June, 1917, that the Commodore has appointed Lieutenant FREDERICK MEDWAY, R.N., to be Officer in charge of the Examination Service, vice Lieutenant-Com- mander ARTHUR RONALD PITTIS MARTIN, R.N.R., with effect from the 11th December, 1917.

No. 547.-It is hereby notified that the following Public and General Holidays will be observed as Government Holidays, in 1918:-

It is hereby further notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to exclude the Police Magistrates' Department from the operation of the Holidays Ordinance, 1912, Ordinance No. 5 of 1912, on the 30th March, 1st April, 20th May, 3rd June, 5th August, 14th October, 11th November, and 26th December.

Appointment of Controller in place of another :--

83, F. Schmitz and Co., 59, Mark Lane, London, E.C., Commission Agent and Merchant in Skins. Harold Edgar Saffery, 14, Old Jewry Chambers, London, E.C., appointed Controller 1st October, 1917, in place of Francis Joseph Saffery, who is unable, by reason of illness, to continue to act.
