No. 475. The following communiqué regarding a Committee formed at the India Office to assist disabled and invalided officers of the Army to obtain employment in India, Burma, the Eastern Colonies, and the Malay States, is published for information.

COMMUNIQUÉ.
The Secretary of State for India wishes to make it generally known that in consul- tation with the Secretary of State for the Colonies a Committee has been formed which will hold meetings at the India Office, to assist disabled or invalided officers who may be desirous of obtaining employment in India, Burma, the Eastern Colonies and Malay States. Applications from such officers of all branches of the services with Indian or Eastern experience are invited.
Banks and firms having branches in the East who may be in a position of offer such employment are similarly invited to communicate with the India Office when they will be placed in direct communication with approved applicants with all information regard- ing them as may be essential. It is however not anticipated that many such candidates are likely to be immediately available.
The following information should be given :-
By Applicants:
Rank.
Name in full and age.
Corps or Department.
Length of service.
Nature and date of Casualty.
Extent of injury.
Date of Discharge from Hospital.
Present Status, i.e., whether retired, pensioned, or on half pay.
Present employment, if any.
Employment prior to the war.
Nature of employment desired.
By Firms and Employers :
Vacancies.
Qualifications required. Locality of employment. Emoluments and terms.
Applications to be addressed to the
