No. 172. The King's Exequatur empowering Monsieur U. R. REU to act as Consul for France in Hongkong has received His Majesty's signature.

No. 173.-The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. E. V. M. RICCI DE SOUSA to act as Consul for Ecuador in Hongkong has received His Majesty's signature.

No. 174.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint 2nd Lieu- tenants H. R. B. HANCOCK and C. W. BESWICK to be Lieutenants, and Dr. II. BALEAN to be a Surgeon-Lieutenant, Hongkong Volunteer Reserve, and to place Captain G. K. HALL BRUTTON, Captain D. LANDALE, and 2nd Lieutenants F. GRÖNE and J. W. C. BONNAR on the Supernumerary List of Officers, Hongkong Volunteer Reserve, all with effect from the 25th April, 1917.

No. 175. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. JOHN BERNARD THOMSON to act as Second Assistant Government Marine Surveyor during the absence on leave of Mr. ROBERT HALL OP until further notice, with effect from the 20th April, 1917.

With reference to Notification No. 158 of the 14th April, 1917, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. WILFRED JOHN HINTON to be a member of the Committee referred to in the place of the Honourable Mr. EDWARD SHELLAM, resigned, and to add the name of the Honourable Mr. PERCY HOBSON HOLYOAK,

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under Section 10 of the Medical Registration Ordinance, 1884, and Section 3 of the Dentistry Ordinance, 1914, Dr. OSWALD MARRIOTT to be a Member of the Medical Board and of the Dental Board, respectively, during the absence on leave of Dr. FREDERIC OSMUND STEDMAN or until further notice, with effect from this date.
