Quarantine restrictions against all ships arriving at Dairen of Port Arthur from or by way of Canton and all other South-China ports.

Hongkong declared a suspected port on account of cholera.

No. S. 238.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Labour and Materials for the Chinese Cemeteries", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1916, for the supply of Labour and Materials for the Chinese Cemeteries in the Colony of Hongkong and Kowloon for the period of one year from 1st January, 1917.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

No. S. 239.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked Tender for the supply and delivery of Timber", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1916, for the supply and delivery of Timber to the Public Works Department during the year 1917.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.

No. S. 240. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the maintenance, repair, etc., of Roads, etc.", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 7th day of November, 1916, for the maintenance, repair and minor extensions or alterations of Roads, Streets, Bridges and Praya Walls, Public Cemeteries, Recreation Grounds, and relative works in the Colony of Hongkong, British Kowloon and the New Territories during the year 1917.
