Dredging operations at Pootung Point.

NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 14th instant, by order of the Whangpoo Conservancy Board, operations for dredging at Pootung Point will be commenced.

While such are in process of execution the passage south of the head-and-stern moorings in the 6th, 7th and 8th sections of the harbour will be closed to steamer traffic. Notice is further given that, in order to give free scope to the dredger, owners of the several launch, and other small craft, moorings lying off and just below the Point must have these removed not later than the 13th instant.

Western Australia North-West Coast.

NOTICE is hereby given that the S.S. Bambra is reported to have grounded on au uncharted reef in Latitude 14 deg. 21 min. 30 sec. South, Longitude 124 deg. 51 min. East. The reef is about three cables in length by two in width, sand and boulders, least water eight (8) feet, breaks occasionally West end.

Soundings give no warnings in approaching this danger, as there is deep water- close to a sheer drop to 25 fathoms.

Charts affected :—

No. 1047, Cape Ford to Buccaneer Archipelago. No. 475, North-West Coast of Australia.
