Notice to Steamship Lines.
1. In view of the present high price and scarcity of bottoms, and the difficulty experienced in maintaining the coal reserve on the Isthmus, on and after October 1, 1916, and until further notice, the following prices will obtain at the Panama Canal for coal supplied steamships, including warships of all nations:
Cristobal-Colon.
Delivered alongside of vessel in lighters or in cars on the wharves,
trimmed in bunkers, when handled by ship's gear (per ton) ...$ 7.50
Balboa.

Delivered alongside of vessel in lighters or in cars on the wharves,
trimmed in bunkers, when handled by ship's gear (per ton) 9.00 An additional charge of $2 per hour will be made for the use of each mechanical hoist or crane furnished by the Panama Rail- road Company.
2. These changes apply to the prices given on pages 41-42 of the Sailing Directions and General Information, the Panama Canal, and its supplements.

Rates for Floating Equipment.
THE following rates are established, effective August 15, 1916, for services rendered to individuals and companies, and others, for crane boats, tugs, clapets, launches, barges and other floating equipment :-
1. Floating cranes: (a) Rates to individuals and companies, and others, for floating cranes will be furnished upon application to the Resident Engineer, Dredging Division.
2. Crane Boats: (a) For services of crane boat La Valley, first hour
Each succeeding half hour or fraction thereof (b) For services of derrick barge, first hour
Each succeeding half hour or fraction thereof
3. Tugs: (a) For services of all tugs, excepting during maintenance' work in Gaillard Cut, and until normal conditions obtain, unless the size of a vessel or condition of her operating machinery or steering qualities be such that a
