HAKODATE HARBOUR, HOKKAIDO.
NOTICE is hereby given that, Temporary Light of Hakodate Lightship, Hakodate Harbour, Province of Oshima, Hokkaido, which was notified with the notification No. 215 in May, the year, was withdrown on the 21st, instant, and the Light same as before, has been exhibited at evening of that day.

FOUL GROUND OFF CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.
NOTICE is hereby given that information has been received from the Commander of II.B.M.'s surveying- ship Waterwitch "that foul ground, consisting of boulders lying on a muddy bottom, exists at a distance of from 4 to 5 cables eastward of Cape of Good Hope.
"There are three shoal heads, of 4, 44, and 5 fathoms respectively, which are surrounded by depths of from 6 to 9 fathoms.

The bearings are as follows:-
23° 14′ 30′′ N. ...116° 49′ 0′′ S.
"From the 4-fathoms rock :
“Cape of Good Hope Lighthouse (171 ft.) hears S, 85° W., distant 4 cables.

Green Island Summit bears N. 42 W.
From the 43-fathoms rock:
*Cape of Good Hope Lighthouse bears S. 77° W., distant 4 cables.
"From the 5-fathoms rock:
Cape of Good Hope Lighthouse bears S. 70° W., distant 55 cables.”
