APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 1018. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under section 3 of the Dentistry Ordinance, 1914, Ordinance No. 16 of 1914, Dr. JAMES WILLIAM ANDERSON to be a Member of the Dental Board for a period of three years, with effect from 6th January, 1939.

MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.

No. 1019.- Government Notification No. 765 of the 29th of September, 1938, is amended as follows:-

First and second class cabin passengers embarking at Hong Kong for ports in the Philippine Islands are no longer required to furnish themselves with certificates of immunisation against cholera.

Steerage passengers from Hong Kong to ports in the Philippine Islands should, however, obtain a certificate of incenlation against cholera dated not less than five months prior to the date of their departure from Hong Kong and issued by the Port Health Officer, Hong Kong, or other Government Medical Officer.

No. 1020.-It is hereby notified for general information that as from Sunday, 1st January, 1939, until further notice, the following will be the office hours of:-

(a) General Births and Deaths Register Office, Post Office Building.

Death Registration.

Every day -

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Birth Registration.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Saturdays -

Other week days (except holidays)

(b) Kowloon Death Register Office, Waterloo Road.

Every day-

10a.m. to 1 p.m.

2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Government Notification No. 673 dated the 30th August, 1935, is hereby cancelled.
