APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 905.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint GORDON KING, L.R.C.P. (Lond.), F.R.C.S. (Eng.), F.C.O.G. (Lond.), Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to the University of Hong Kong, to be Obstetric Physician to the Queen Mary Hospital, with effect from 17th November, 1938.

No. 906.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint JAMES THORNTON SMALLEY, M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), to act as Director of Medical Services, with effect from the 21st November, 1938, and until further notice.

No. 907.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. HUMPHREY JOHN CRUTTWELL to be District Officer in the Southern District of the New Territories, with effect from 24th November, 1938.

25th November, 1938.

No. 908.-It is hereby notified that Ilis Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. HUMPHREY JOHN CRUTTWELL to be a Magistrate under the provisions of section 5 of the Magistrates Ordinance, 1932, Ordinance No. 41 of 1932, with effect from 24th November, 1938.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize Mr. HUMPHREY JOHN CRUTTWELL, a Magistrate, under the provisions of section 58 of the New Territories Regu- lation Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 34 of 1910, to hold a Small Debts Court, as mentioned in the said section, at the undermentioned places in the New Territories (exclusive of New Kowloon) in addition to the court-house at the office of the District Officer for the Southern District of the New Territories in the building known as Queen's Building" and situate at the corner of Chater Road and Statue Square, Victoria, in this Colony, and so long as he shall hold the office of District Officer for the Southern District of the New Territories.

The charge rooms of the Police Stations at Tsuen Wan, Tai O (Lantao), Tung Chung (Lantao), Cheung Chau and Yung Shu Wan in Lamma Island, with effect from 24th November, 1938.

No. 909.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Acting Inspector BERNARD THORPE to be an Examiner of Weights and Measures under the Weights and Measures Ordinance, 1885, section 4, and also an Inspector under the Gunpowder and Fireworks Ordinance, 1901, section 14, with effect from 18th November, 1938.
