COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

It is hereby notified for general information that the International Convention relating to Motor Traffic, 1926, which hitherto applied to Burma as part of India, has now been made applicable to Burma as a separate British overseas territory with effect from the 1st April, 1937.

The continued application of the Convention to Burma as an overseas territory remains subject to the exclusion from its operation of the Karenni States which were excluded from the application of the Convention at the time of the accession of the Government of India to the Convention in 1929.

The distinguishing mark indicated below has been allotted to Burma.

The Government of Iraq have acceded to the Convention, and in accordance with Article 15 thereof, the accession will take effect from 20th March, 1939.
