MOTION.
9. The Financial Secretary addressed the Council and moved the following
resolution:
That the draft estimates of expenditure for 1939 be approved.
The Colonial Secretary seconded.
Council adjourned till 2.30 p.m.
Council re-assembled at 2.30 p.m.
The Honourable Sir HENRY EDWARD POLLOCK, Kt., K.C., LL.D., addressed the Council and moved an amendment to the Resolution, that the draft estimates be referred, for consideration in detail, to a Select Committee consisting of the Colonial Secretary, Financial Secretary and all Unofficial Members. The Honourable Mr. JOHN JOHNSTONE PATERSON seconded.
The Honourable Mr. CHAU TSUN-NIN, C.B.E., addressed the Council.
The Honourable Mr. Lo MAN-KAM addressed the Council.
The Colonial Secretary accepted the amendment on behalf of Government and
the draft estimates were referred accordingly.
His Excellency the Governor addressed the Council assuring the Honourable Mr. CHAU TSUN-NIN, C.B.E., and the supporting members that their proposals would be considered by Government.
ADJOURNMENT.
10. The Council then adjourned sine die.
