THE MERCHANT SHIPPING LOAD LINE CONVENTION (HONG KONG)

No. 2 ORDER, 1938.

AT THE COURT AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE.

Whereas by subsection (1) of Section 64 of the Merchant Shipping (Safety and Load Line Conventions) Act, 1932(a) (hereinafter referred as to "the Act') it is enacted amongst other things that His Majesty may by Order in Council direct that the provisions of Part II of the Act shall extend to any Colony :

And whereas by paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of the said section it is enacted that His Majesty may by Order in Council direct that any provision of Part II of the Act which is expressed to apply only to British ships registered in the United Kingdom shall apply to British ships registered in any country or part of His Majesty's dominions to which the provisions of Part II of the Act can be extended by virtue of the foregoing provisions of the said section:

And whereas by virtue of an Order in Council dated the tenth day of November, nineteen hundred and thirty-two (b), made in pursuance of Section 67 of the Act, Part II of the Act came into operation in the United Kingdom on the first day of January, nineteen hundred and thirty-three:

Now, therefore, His Majesty, in pursuance of the powers conferred upon Him by the said paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of Section 64, is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to direct and it is hereby directed, as follows:

1. The provisions of Part II of the Act set out in the Schedule hereto, which are expressed to apply only to British ships registered in the United Kingdom shall apply to British ships registered in the Colony of Hong Kong.
