No. 738.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GRENFELL CLARKE to be District Officer in the Southern District of the New Territories, with effect from 20th September, 1938.

No. 739.--It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GRENFELL CLARKE to be a Magistrate under the provisions of section 5 of the Magistrates Ordinance, 1932, Ordinance No. 41 of 1932, with effect from 20th September, 1938.

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to authorize Mr. ARTHUR GRENFELL CLARKE, a Magistrate, under the provisions of section 58 of the New Territories Regula- tion Ordinance, 1910, Ordinance No. 34 of 1910, to hold a Small Debts Court, as mentioned in the said section, at the undermentioned places in the New Territories (exclusive of New Kowloon) in addition to the court-house at the office of the District Officer for the Southern District of the New Territories in the building known as Queen's Building" and situate at the corner of Chater Road and Statue Square, Victoria, in this Colony, and so long as he shall hold the office of District Officer for the Southern District of the New Territories.

The charge rooms of the Police Stations at Tsuen Wan, Tai O (Lantao), Tung Chung (Lantao), Cheung Chau and Yung Shu Wan in Lamma Island, with effect from 20th September, 1938.

NOTICES.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

It is hereby notified for general information that the Convention for the unification of certain rules relating to international carriage by air, signed at Warsaw on 12th October, 1929, having been ratified by his Majesty the King of the Hellenes, His Majesty in Council has revoked the Carriage by Air (Parties to Convention) Order, 1938, and substituted a new order, namely the Carriage by Air (Parties to Convention) (No. 2) Order, 1938, copies of which may be seen on application at the Colonial Secretary's Office.

The Schedule to the new Order is similar to that in the 1937 (No. 2) Order since revoked, with the addition of the items published in Government Notification No. 459 of 10th June, 1938, and of the following:-
