EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 564.

It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor in Council has given directions for the rescission of the Order of the 19th May, 1938, published in the Gazette of the 20th May, 1938, as Government Notification No. 398, declaring Canton to be a place at which an infectious or contagious disease, namely, small-pox, prevailed, and the same is hereby rescinded.

The Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Ordinance, 1936, Ordinance No. 7 of 1936, section 18.

It is hereby declared by order of His Excellency the Governor in Council that Canton is a place in which an infectious or contagious disease, namely, cholera, prevails.

By virtue and in exercise of the power conferred on him by rule 18 of the Hong Kong (Non-domiciled parties) Divorce Rules, 1936, published in the Gazette of 3rd January, 1936, as Government Notification 15, the Governor in Council is pleased to appoint JOHN ALEXANDER FRASER, Esquire, M.C., Barrister-at-law, Acting Attorney General of Hong Kong to be Proctor in this Colony and as such to exercise within the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong the duties assigned to His Majesty's Proctor in England by sections 181 and 182 of the Supreme Court of Judicature (Consolidation) Act, 1925, (15 and 16 Geo. 5, c. 49).
