No. 469.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following appointment in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 1st June, 1938:-
Mr. GEOFFREY TERRELL BALEAN, M.R.C.S. (Eng.), L.R.C.P. (Lond.), D.T.M. & H.
(Lond.), to be Lieutenant.

It is hereby notified, under section 6 (3) of the Basel Evangelical Missionary Society Incorporation Ordinance, 1927, Ordinance No. 5 of 1927, that satis- factory proof of the appointment of Rev. KARL FERDINAND ERNY as President in this Colony of the Basel Evangelical Missionary Society in the place and stead of Mr. ARTHUR RITZI has been placed in the hands of His Excellency the Governor.
