No. 414. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments during the absence on leave of His Honour Sir ALASDAIR DUNCAN ATHOLI MACGREGOR, Kt., K.Č., or until further notice, with effect from 27th May, 1958 :---
His Honour Mr. Justice ROGER EDWARD LINDSELL to act as Chief Justice of the
Supreme Court;
Mr. ERNEST HILLAS WILLIAMS to act as Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court.

No. 415.-With reference to Government Notification No. 219 of 10th April, 1931, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. WALTER HEATHCOTE LOCK to be a Member of the Harbour Advisory Committee, vice Mr. JOHN ROBERTSON MASSON, resigned, with effect from 13th May, 1938.

No. 416. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. GEOFFREY POLGLASE, P.A.S.I., Chartered Surveyor, to act as Assessor of Rates during the absence on leave of Mr. JULIUS RING, B.Sc. (Eng.), F.S.I., Chartered Surveyor, A.M.I. Struct. E., A.I.Mech. E., with effect from 28th May, 1938.

No. 417.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make, under regula- tion 9 of the Regulations of the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force, the following promotions in the Hong Kong Naval Volunteer Force :-
Paymaster Lieutenant to Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander,
EDWARD GROSSMAN, with effect from 29th April, 1938.
Probationary Cadet to Acting Paymaster Sub-Lieutenant. BRIAN MELTON BATEMAN, with effect from 29th April, 1938.

No. 418.-His Excellency the Governor, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to recognize Mr. ARTURO CUAN TERRY provi- sionally and pending the issue of His Majesty's Exequatur, as Honorary Consul for Honduras at Hong Kong.
