The Quarantine and Prevention of Disease Ordinance, 1936, Ordinance No. 7 of 1936, section 18.
It is hereby declared by order of His Excellency the Governor in Council that Shanghai is a place at which an infectious or contagious disease, namely, typhus, prevails.

No. 346.-The Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies has been pleased to approve the appointment of Mr. BRABAZON HENRY COLLIS HALLOWES to be Assistant Superintendent of Surveys, with effect from 8th January, 1938, inclusive.

No. 347.-The Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies has been pleased to approve the appointment of Mr. EDGAR BUCHANAN LAMBERT to be Assistant Superintendent of Crown Lands, with effect from 8th January, 1938, inclusive.

No. 348-With reference to Government Notification No. 88 of 9th February, 1934, His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. HARRIE VAUGHAN WILKINSON, D.S.O., to be a Member of the Committee to administer the Mercantile Marine Assistance Fund of Hong Kong, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. MARCUS THEODORE JOHNSON, with effect from 2nd May, 1938.
