EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 532.

Rules made by the Governor in Council, this 19th day of June,

1906, under Section 6 of the Stamp Ordinance, 190!,

(Ordinance No. 16 of 1901), as amended by Ordinance No. 38 of 1902.

1. The duty in Article 38 (iv) of the Schedule to Ordinance No. 38 of 1902 is hereby repealed and the following substituted, viz.:-

"5 cents for every $500 of the principal sum paid off or otherwise discharged,

provided that no duty is chargeable in respect of any part of $500.”

2. The second part of Note 2 to Article 13 of the same Schedule is hereby repcaled and the following substituted, viz.:-

"If the Duty be 5 cents the first part of the set shall be stamped to that amount in accordance with Rule No. 2 of the Rules made by the Governor in Council under the Stamp Ordinance, 1901, on the 6th day of April, 1903, and the other parts with an impressed stamp of the same nominal value.

Provided that only the sum of 5 cents shall be payable in respect of the

whole set."

No. 533.

Regulations for the maintenance of good order and the preser- vation of property on Bowen Road, made by the Governor in Council, this 19th day of June, 1906, under Section 3 of the Public Places Ordinance,

1870, (Ordinance No. 2 of 1870).

1. Unless with the express permission of the Director of Public Works no wheeled traffic is allowed on the Bowen Road with the exception of bicycles, tricycles, perambulators and rickshas ridden or driven without the assistance of any motive power other than that of the rider or driver.

2. Cyclists are warned to ride with caution, especially round the bends.

3. In no case must more than two chairs go abreast.

4. No kites are to be flown from the Bowen Road.

5. No person shall do any injury to any plant, tree, fence or other property of the Government on or adjoining the road.

6. No person shall put his feet on any seat or lie upon any seat.

7. The provisions of the Vehicles Regulation Ordinance, 1899, shall apply to all vehicles using the Bowen Road.
