Telegrams received, giving further information regarding typhoons, which cannot be repeated by Signal, will be posted at the Customs Examination Shed and at the door of the Customs Offices on Shameen.

N.B. The signals 9-16 do not necessarily imply that bad weather will be experienced here. Neither does the Urgent Signal, No. 17, necessarily imply that wind of typhoon force may be expected, but as it indicates that a typhoon is blowing in Hong- kong the probabilities are that a severe blow will also be experienced in Canton.

As the communication from Hongkong will be received by wire the repeating of the Signals here will, consequently, be dependent on the telegraph being in working order.
