Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE

is hereby given that JOHN WALKER BOLLES, Attorney for the STANDARD OIL COMPANY OF NEW YORK, with offices in Hotel Mansions, Hongkong, has on the 19th December, 1914, applied for the registration in Hongkong in the Register of Trade Marks of the following Trade Mark:— The mark is oblong in form containing at either end a circular device within the purliens of which is shown a shield in relief bearing the legend "Socony" and the Chinese Characters

(美孚行) surmounting with are

the letters "50" and "N and Y" respectively on the left and right hand side thereof, Between these two circular devices is a panel the traceries of which have inset the following:-

At the top end is inscribed the Chinese Characters

(美竿行); below which

are the words "Eagle Brand Candles," below this is pictured a Flying Eagle bearing in its bill a banner inscribed with the Chinese

Characters (美孚行) and

carrying in its talons an olive branch; below this are the Chinese Characters

(鷹牌蠟燭); below

this 18 a circular device similiar to the one at either end (above described) and finally there are the words "Standard Oil Co. of New York," and 12 oz.
