POLICE DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 12.—It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the construction of a Motor Launch will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 30th day of January, 1915.

The launch to be of teakwood, 36 feet overall, by 8 feet moulded breadth, by 3 feet 8 inches moulded depth and to be equipped complete and ready for use with a 20/24 H.P. Penta or other approved motor of equal power, anchor chains, bell, whistle (or approved substitute therefor), regulation lights, awning, ęte.

The launch to be constructed to the satisfaction of the Government Marine Surveyor at whose office an approximate plan may be seen. The contractor to state a time in which the launch can be completed.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

BRITISH SECTION.

No. S. 13. It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the Building of Class B Quarters at Hung Hom" will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 23rd day of January, 1915, our behalf of the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section).

Drawings may be seen and the Specification and full particulars obtained by appli- cation to the Railway Head Office, Kowloon, on the deposit of a fee of $50, which will be refunded on the submission of a bonâ fide tender together with the return of the Specification intact.

The Contractor must deliver in with his Tender the schedule of quantities and prices, which shall be fully filled up and shall set forth the items of which such estimate is com- posed, and shall contain his complete estimate.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract in the usual form of Government Contracts and to give security for the sum of $1,500 in a bond with two sureties conditional for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such contract.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following lighted wreck buoys have been moored at a distance of about 2 cables N. of Moji S. W. Lighted Buoy, Shimonoseki Strait, Inland Sea, to mark the bow and stern of the wrecked steamer Kisakata Maru.

Moji-ko-gwai Lighted Wreck Buoy (Bow).

Description:-Iron frustum of cone in shape, painted green, surmounted by a

lattice-work supporting a lantern.

Height of light:-10 shaku above the water.
