No. 18. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint FRANK OSWALD REYNOLDS to be a Second Lieutenant in the Hongkong Volunteer Corps with effect from the 3rd January, 1906.

No. 19.- His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under Section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Amendment Ordinance, 1903, (Ordi- nance No. 23 of 1903), ALFRED CARTER to be Second Sanitary Surveyor in the Sanitary Department, with effect from the 1st instant.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 20. It is hereby notified that under the provisions of the Public Holi- days Ordinance, 1875 (Ordinance No. 2 of 1875), hursday, the 25th instant, will be kept as a Bank Holiday in the Colony. His Excellency the Governor has further appointed, under Section 8 of the aforesaid Ordinance, Friday, the 26th instant, to be observed as a Public Holiday in the Colony.

No. 21.-Information has been received from the Military Authorities that Field Firing Practice will be carried out on the area bounded by lines from Diamond Hill, to Lion Hill, thence to Tates Cairn, Kowloon Peak and back to Diamond Hill with the exception of the paths over Shatin and Grasscutters Passes, on the 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th January, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon on each day.
