Canton River: Front Reach: Dutch Folly Beacons: Change in Character of Lights.
NOTICE is hereby given that on or about the 1st of December, 1914, the character of the lights exhibited from the Dutch Folly Beacons, will be changed from fixed to occulting as follows:-
Dutch Folly South Beacon: Occulting Green, having the following char-
acteristics :-
Light, Eclipse,
0.3 seconds
...2.7 seconds and so on.
Dutch Folly North Beacons:
acteristics :-
Light, Eclipse,
...
Occulting Red, having the following char-
...
0.3 seconds
...2.7 seconds and so on.
Both the red and the green lights will be visible in clear weather, as soon as the contour of the river permits their being seen.

No. S. 365.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in duplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of labour for Watering the Streets
"" will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 1st December, 1914, for the supply of labour for Watering the Streets in the City of Victoria for one year ending 29th February, 1916.
In dry weather one Chinese foreman and twenty coolies are required every day and they will be required to work eight hours a day.
Tenderers must produce a receipt that they have deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of their tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.
