No. 9 of 1914.

WEST COAST-CARAWA JETTY LIGHT.

REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 9 of 1913, Masters of Vessels and others are hereby informed that on the 1st day of June, 1914, the Red Sector will be removed from the Carawa Jetty Light, and that thereafter a Fixed White Light will be shown over an arc of 180° between the bearings of 84° (N. 81° E. mag.) round by North to 264° (S. 81° W. mag.).

The Light will be visible in clear weather at a distance of 9 nautical miles.

Approximate position-Lat. 32° 31' S.; long. 134° 12' E.

This affects Admiralty Chart No. 1061.

WEST COAST.

Flinders, Price, and Whidbey (Four Hummocks) Islands.

MASTERS of Vessels and others are hereby notified that A.G.A. lights (unwatched) will shortly be placed on the Flinders, Price, and Whidbey (Four Hummocks) Islands. The particulars of the lights are as shown hereunder :-

Flinders Island.

An A.G.A. flashing white light, flashing 20 times per minute, will be exhibited from an iron post 10ft. high, surrounded by a five-foot picket fence painted white, on the highest point of the north-east corner of the island, showing a red sector of 10 degrees over The Watchers. In clear weather the white light will be visible for a distance of eight miles. Approximate position-Lat., 33° 41' S.; long., 134° 31′ E.

Price Island.

An A.G.A. flashing white light, flashing 30 times per minute, will be exhibited from a post 10ft. high, surrounded by a five-foot picket fence painted white, erected on the highest part of the island, and showing red sectors of 10 degrees over Stuart Reef and 13 degrees over Whidbey Point. The white light will be visible in clear weather about eight miles. Approximate position-Lat., 34° 42" 30" S.; long., 135° 17′ E.

Whidbey (Four Hummocks) Island.

An A.G.A. flashing white light, flashing once in every eight seconds, will be exhibited from an iron tower 15ft. high, painted white, on the summit of the outer island, showing a red sector of 90 degrees to the eastward extending from Stuart Reef to Whidbey Point. The white light should be visible in clear weather for a distance of 13 miles. Approximate position-Lat., 34° 46' 30" S.; long., 135° 1' 15" E.

A further notice specifying the date of first exhibition will be issued in due course.

This affects Admiralty Chart No. 1061.
