No. S. 178.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders, which should be clearly marked "Tender for Repairs to No. 1 Police Launch ", 'will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the 27th instant.
Specifications can be obtained at the Government Marine Surveyor's Office.
Repairs to be executed to the satisfaction of the Government. Marine Surveyor. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

MASTERS of vessels passing in or out of the Lyeemún entrance to Hongkong Harbour
are warned to proceed at a moderate speed when passing Taikoo Dockyard, as their wash is
apt to cause damage to vessels under repair at that establishment.

THE Astronomical positions are only approximate unless seconds are given. The bear-
ings are given both True and Magnetic, and those relating to lights are from seaward. The visibility of lights is that in clear weather. Fog signals are sounded only during thick or foggy weather unless otherwise stated. The depths given are of low-water ordinary springs. The heights given are above high water.

Position.-At lighthouse.
Lat. 22° 11' N., long. 114° 18′ E.
Alteration.--The fog-gun signals have been replaced by an explosive signal giving two reports, with an interval of fifteen seconds between them, every twelve minutes.
