No. S. 519.-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked Tender for Nightsoil Tanks", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 22nd day of December, 1941. The work consists of the erection of three Nightsoil Tanks on the west side of Castle Peak Bay near Yeung Siu Hang village.

As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a sum of $4,000 with the

Accountant-General.

Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.

A tender is received only on the condition that it shall remain open for acceptance for twenty-one clear days after the date of its submission.

For form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Firing practice, as under, is notified for 8th December, 1941:

(a) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00

p.m.

Firing Area "B" will be affected.

Alternative date-9th December, 1941.

(b) Light gun anti-aircraft practice at D'AGUILAR A. A. Range between

the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m.

Firing Area "B" will be affected.

Alternative dates-9th, 10th and 11th December, 1941.

(c) Heavy gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.30 p.m. and 10.30

p.m.

Firing Area "C" will be affected.

Alternative date-9th December, 1941.

(d) Light gun practice seawards between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00

midnight.

Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.

2. Heavy gun practice seawards will be carried out on 10th December, 1941, between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.

Firing area 'B" may be affected.

Alternative date-11th December, 1941.

3. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.
