No. S. 506.--It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked Tender for the Blood and Hair Contract, Ma Tau Kok ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 22nd December, 1941, for the daily collection and removal of blood and hair from the Slaughter House situated at Ma Tau Kok in the Kowloon Peninsula, for the period from the 1st April, 1942 to 31st March, 1943.

The contractor shall at all times keep the Slaughter House in a thorough state of cleanliness, for which service he shall maintain as many coolies as may, in the opinion of the Urban Council, be necessary, but the number shall in no case be less than three, one of whom shall be employed as a foreman. The contractor shall also provide the necessary brooms and baskets. No drying or storing of hair will be permitted in the vicinity of the Slaughter House or in the Urban District. The contract may be cancelled on three months' notice being given by Government.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited with the Accountant-General the sum of $50 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing condi- tions to be prescribed by the Council and also to give security by depositing a sum of $500 with the Accountant-General: failing compliance with these requirements the sum deposited by the tenderer will be forfeited.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.
