NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.

1. Heavy gun firing practice seawards will be carried out on 8th Septem ber, 1941 between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

Firing Area "B" will be affected.

Alternative dates-9th and 10th September, 1941.

2. 9th, 10th and 11th September, 1941, reserved as alternative dates for heavy gun practice originally detailed for 1st, 2nd and 3rd September, 1941, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.

Firing Area "C" is affected.

3. Light gun firing practice seawards will be carried out on 14th September, 1941, between the hours of 2.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.

Firing Area "C" will be affected.

4. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing areas, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

Position.-Lat. 06° 06′ 05′′ N., long. 118° 14′ 38′′ E. (Approx.).

Details.--From recent surveys of Tanganak patches, discloses the existence of a 41⁄2

fathom shoal in the above position.

Authority.-U.S. Naval Authorities.
