NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th August, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Heavy anti-aircraft gun practice will be carried out on 5th August, 1941, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the Western area of the Island.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
Alternative dates-6th and 7th August, 1941.
3. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 10th August, 1941, between the hours of 2.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
4. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, if necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.
No. 166/1941.
HONG KONG WATERS-SUBMARINE CABLE REPAIRS.
Position.-Between Cape D'Aguilar and Waglan.
Details.-Mariners are hereby informed that from Saturday the 26th July, 1941,
and until further notice, repairs will be effected to the Submarine Cable in the above position.
2. The Regulation Signals will be exhibited by the craft employed
in this work.
3. Vessels are warned to keep well clear of the craft so employed and to proceed as slow as possible compatible with safe navigation.
