NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Heavy gun anti-aircraft practice will be carried out in the south-eastern area of the Island on 24th July, 1941, between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative date-25th July, 1941.
2. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 25th July, 1941, between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight by units of the Hong Kong Infantry Brigade.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
3. Light gun firing practice will be carried out on 27th July, 1941, between the hours of 2.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m.
Firing Area "D" will be affected.
4. In accordance with sub-section 4 of section 4 of the Defences (Firing Areas) Ordinance, 1936, masters of ships and pilots of aircraft exempt from the operation of this Ordinance under section 10 as amended by Hong Kong Government Notifications of various dates, are warned to assist in the carrying out of the firing practice by hastening through the firing areas affected or by consenting to be towed out of the firing area, f necessary, by any vessel acting under the orders of the Military Authorities.

Blackout Exercises.
Blackout exercises will be held between the 21st July, 1941, and the 24th July, 1941
2. In these exercises, the blackout will automatically commence at sunset on 21st,
22nd and 23rd July, 1941, and terminate at sunrise on 24th July, 1941.
Should the blackout be extended for a further period after the afore-mentioned dates, a further Notice to Mariners will be issued.
