No. S. 192.--It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate which should be clearly marked "Tender for Eastern Filters Scheme", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Monday, the 19th day of May, 1941, for the construction of rapid gravity filters, pumping station, coolie quarters, European quarters and ancillary works at Eastern Filters, Stubbs Road.
As security for the proper performance of the works under this contract, the sum of $10,000 with the successful tenderer will be required to deposit, in cash, a Accountant-General.
Any tenderer may be required as a condition of the consideration or acceptance of his tender to supply full particulars of the constitution of his firm.
No work will be permitted on Sundays.
For form of ten ler, specification and further particulars apply at this Office.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

NOTICE OF FIRING PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DEFENCES (FIRING AREAS) ORDINANCE, 1936.
1. Firing practice as under is notified for 28th April, 1941 : -
(a) Heavy gun anti-aircraft practice in the southern area of the Island
between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative dates-1st and 2nd May, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
2. Firing practice as under is notified for 29th April, 1941-
(a) Heavy gun practice in the southern area of the Island between the hours
of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m.
Firing Area "C" will be affected.
Alternative date -30th April, 1941.
(b) Light gun practice between the hours of 6.00 p.m. and 12.00 midnight.
Firing Areas "D" and "E" will be affected.
